Ok thanks. i’m seeing minor tweaks in the UI and some bug fixes from elements 5 to 6, correct?
There’s quite a lot more in Dorico 6 than only bug fixes! You can download a free trial of Dorico 6 to have a look around for yourself.
It seems the version history is based on Dorico Pro, and only once in a while mentions Dorico Elements. (e.g. Etude Elements is available in Dorico Elements)
Some of the new features introduced in Dorico 6 are available though in Elements too.
From the highlights mentioned in Dorico 6 I see these are availble (haven’t checked them all).
Proofreading feature.
Multiple lines of chords
Chord symbol appearence
Fill view
I’m afraid you have to cross check the version history with the manual of Dorico Elements to see more.
It would be nice to mention (maybe with an icon or so) in future version histories in which edition a new feature is available.

While Elements doesn’t get some of the big features, like Cutaway scores, you should find there’s tons more, such as Proofreading, productivity improvements to the interface, support for more notation, better handling of chord symbols, Rulers and Grids, cycle playback, etc, etc.
You’ll also get the Etude Elements piano sample, and the (rather nice) Splentino fonts.

As @charles_piano mentioned, the sale is through May 26 (see the first post in this topic). There is a standard crossgrade offer if you have sibelius which is on sale (30%) until then.
On gee, not very long then! 
I’d ditch Sibelius and go with the £500 Steinberg package, if I were to.
After a cross-grade, you still hold your Sibelius license, so you can use both and make transition gradually.

I’m downloading the Dorico 6 Pro trial. Does it come with a library of sounds (like Sibelius does), or do you need to purchase Iconica also, please? I’m not quite sure?
Dorico comes with a set of instruments and sounds, one is Iconica Sketch. The full Iconica package is not included, but there is a sale at the moment, where you get Iconica and Etude for a nice discount.

However, 90% of what I write is Jazz (plus a bit of Latin and Pop). Is Iconica Classically orientated, please? That’s the impression I got in the demos.
