Saved Project Does not Load Correct audio files even though they're in The Set Audio Folder

Hey Everyone,

So, I’m pretty new to Cubase but have been using DAWs for about 4-5 years.
Recently, I had a recording session with an artist and now, when I try to load the session I had with her, the audio files that were supposed to go on the tracks that they were recorded on are simply not there. For some reason, it puts on the files I used for another project that has its cubase project and a separate folder in the cubase project folder itself. I checked the audio folder in the project where I was recording the artist and all the audio files there are from that project. But when I set the project folder to be there (when prompted by Cubase on what should the project folder be) I still get files from the other project and some stuff from the artist. Can someone help me out with this because I don’t want to manually drag all the stuff from the audio folder into cubase especially as a lot of it was nicely comped in the lanes of the corresponding audio channel(s).

Additionally, when I want to open the project (after setting the project folder to where the cubase project file and audio files are) it says there are missing audio files but it shows them to be in a completely separate project folder that they are not. So, I’m very confused by what’s happening.

Much appreciated

What happens if you click “Browse Folder” and point to the actual folder containing the audio files?

Hey,

So, I do indicate the actual folder but then it loads only part of the files with files from a completely different project that are now in the audio tracks where the native audio files of the recording were. In other words, it loads audio files from another project/somewhere else and also with some distortion in them. Even though, the correct audio files are in the project and in the audio folder of that project.
