You guys helped me with saving certain settings in care I have to trash the preferences, but I missed how to save the mixer configurations, i even have key switches to change them.

Do you mean the Snapshot of the MixConsole in the project?
If this is the case, open the MixConsole. In the Inspector switch from the Visibility to Snapshots. Then in the Toolbar click on the camera icon (Save MixConsole Snapshot).
Thanks Martin, I am not talking about snapshots. I set up and add 4 mixer presets for different jobs, my mixer is on my 2nd monitor, and all I do is hit a key switch to change any of the 4 mixers. My question is, where are these mixer presets stored? So I can save them in case I have to trash the preferences.
If you mean Mix console configurations, those are stored with the project.
If you mean Workspaces, those are either stored with the project, too (project workspaces), or in the “Window Layouts.xml” (see https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000245510-Preferences-of-Cubase-and-Nuendo)

Thanks Fese, I will make that a feature request that they are saved as a configuration, (where it should be).

Hi,
the reason why mixer configurations are saved with the project and not globally might be due to the fact that they are based on the arrangement of project-related tracks. Such a track arrangement will not necessarily be found in each newly created project.
Project templates on the other hand reflect a specific track arrangement and with it the possibility to apply a specific predefined mixer configuration.
That is most likely the case, because the channel visibility agent’s state is saved with the mixer configurations.
It would be nice though to have some presets for the stuff that is not project specific, like channel type visibility, rack visibility and state, track width and height etc.
