I’m working on a transcription for a tenor saxophone solo. What I would like to do is listen to the recording, figure out the notes on my tenor saxophone, then enter them via midi keyboard/num pad into dorico. I’ve sorted the transposed pitch bit, and attempted to edit in Halion, I’ve got the transposed pitch entering into the keyboard (written pitch vs sounding pitch), but what I can’t work out is how to make the octaves switch so I can use my left hand on the lower half of the keyboard enter pitches near the top of the staff (transpose entry down an ocatve or two). Furthermore, my keystation49 doesn’t appear to enter anything above concert Db (an issue I’ve seen described elsewhere but should be resolved by adjusting the octave, no?). 30 year finale user on the struggle bus here.
