Personally, I’ve studied music so I dont really care about scale assistant.
That being said, one thing I would have loved to see it do a a side feature is create a range in the piano roll to filter out unused octaves. Most vst instruments do not use the full 127 note range. I could then hide a bunch of unused octaves on a bass track of piccolo track and restrict the piano roll to only show the used ambitus of an instrument.
It could also act as a midi filter so notes above or below the selected range would simply not be recorded if played.
This would make navigating through parts a lot easier.
