Whenever I duplicate a guitar part and alter the notes both parts change together. I must be doing something wrong but can’t figure out what. Any help would be most appreciated.

Once you start editing, Cubase asks you, if you want to apply the changes to all Audio Events of the given Audio Clip (Audio file), or if you want to create a new instance of the Audio file. Click on New Version.
Thank you for your reply but I must be doing something wrong as I don’t get any Cubase prompts.
What I have done is duplicate the original recorded audio track, it is set as a mono input, is there anything else I need to do to start with?

Double-check the Preferences > Editing > Audio > On Processing Shared Clips. The default option (which I mentioned) is set to Open Options Dialog.

I have hopefully uploaded a screen shot of my preferences. If that is all OK perhaps we can think what else I might be getting wrong.

If it’s any help, I’m not getting the dialog box I’ve seen on another video where Cubase will say ‘To protect events that use the same audio click ‘New Version’’
