Hi,
I have been trying the score editor in Cubase 14 with using windows 10 on a trial version and I find nothing seems to work consistently. I have to restart constantly, it works for a short while then it all goes bad whether I am using step input or the mouse to input notes. The tuplet tool seems to corrupt everything. I get instruments dropping out as I input notes etc… Can somebody please give me some insight as to what is happening? Surely it cannot be so bad. The score editor means a lot to me as it could be a new way of working more efficiently.
Many thanks
Hi,
Do you have any steps to reproduce, please?
Hi Martin,
I was using the trial version of Cubase 14 but it has expired now. I really wanted to buy Cubase but if the score editor doesn’t work properly, it is kind of useless for me. Unfortunately I didn’t keep anything to reproduce for you. Can you extend the trial period for a day or two?
Many thanks
Hi,
I’m sorry, I have no permission to do so.
Please contact Steinberg’s official support. Report the issue(s) (you can even link to this thread) and ask for the extended license.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Hi Martin,
I live in Croatia which means I have to send an email to a distributor in Croatia and believe me they have no clue as what to do. They will send an email to you guys and then by chance of a miracle they will get back to me. If you don’t live in the rich western countries you have no chance for help from Steinberg, I speak from many past experiences. I’m so worn out with all of this nonsense! You put out a product that has many faults, you want a lot of money and give impractical support, why? I really feel helpless with you guys.
Hi @Maximuss - I’ve extended your trial now. You’ll need to open Steinberg Activation Manager and press the refresh button to update your license.

Hi Ben,
thank you for your support, I am very grateful. In any case, if there are problems, we have to sort them out.
Best regards
Hi Martin,
score test.cpr (145.4 KB)
Can you check why I cannot enter a triplet on the first beat?
I cannot get the tuplet tool to work correctly. Unless you see it in real time I cannot reproduce anything. I would write 3 , 16th tuplets(3:2) followed by an 1/8 note and it then gives me rests throughout the bar. I tried both ways by step input and mouse input.
Thanks
There is a current limitation where you need to create a note first, switch out of Write mode (by clicking on the arrow tool) and then add a tuplet.

We know that creation of tuplets directly in the score editor isn’t a great experience at the moment, and it’s on our list of things to improve.
