Score Editor Note Editing Overlay question

I’m trying out Cubase for this feature but it seems very buggy on my system. Sometimes editing midi length will also edit notation display, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes editing certain bars seems to affect other bars in unpredictable ways. On the whole it seems using it is quite delicate and unreliable.

I’m not sure if I’m doing things wrong or there are bugs in this feature.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Could you please describe exact observation you have step by step. What did you do, what is the current result, what is the expected result?

It’s hard to reply to your post.

On my side it works as expected.

Probably has to do with the current Display Quantize parameter.

Hi thanks for replying.

First of all is this expected behaviour?

When I adjust the midi in note edit overlay the note also adjusts?

Does it still happen when you turn off Step Entry?

Yes it does. But it doesn’t always happen. I just can’t work out what is causing it.

Yes, that’s how it works. The note length changing precisely according to how you are editing it.

What are you actually trying to accomplish?

Are you familiar with how Display Quantization works?

Do you know you can change the display length as well?

I wasn’t entirely but now I’ve read up on it, I think it solves my issue. If I have a lower number it won’t adjust the note value when I adjust the midi.

Thanks!
