I am trial testing Cubase 15 before deciding whether or not to make the full purchase. The score editor into the project editor is definitely a feature I’m happy with; however, I can’t hear anything when I press play. I am assuming this is a user error but I truly don’t know. Any ideas?
This is my screen on the score editor. Let me know if there is anything I could do, so far I’ve integrated ASIO4All but that didn’t work.
What am I supposed to look for in the studio/audio connections? The output driver I can set as either ASIO4ALL or Generic Low Latency Driver, where I can see and connect to my headphones. The other options completely mute my volume in general. As for the sound card, it’s just my headphones. I couldn’t find MIDI Settings
Are you brand new to Cubase (or DAW’s generally.?) If not…
Can you play/hear anything out of Cubase at all.? Drag in or import an audio file. Does that playback ok.? This will establish that you have device/audio connections working ok.
Can you load up a different VST instrument (synth/piano) on an Instrument track or assign a MIDI track to it (refer to Help menu if you don’t know how to do this), then record or input some notes on that track in the key editor and hear the results when played back.?
If the above is all ok yet you are still having issues, then please upload some relevant screenshots. This will help with further troubleshooting…
It’s an either or or situation. Either you use the output tab or the control room. Both tabs has an output option, and you have to have one of them active/connected to get sound out of your Comp.
Well, yes indeed. And in my case, using only the Control Room, I have ‘Not Connected’ everywhere in my Output tab.
Thus, it wouldn’t immediately help (visually) comparing matters for the OP, is all that I thought at this stage… Lets see if they post again as requested, to maybe help further.
With your two screenshots, you only ever have one set of outputs set don’t you.? Either the Outputs tab or the Control Room..? Can’t see whether they are showing 2 separate sets of outputs (i.e. 1/2; 3/4 etc..).?
Okay, so this(I changed audio device to Steinberg built in ASIO Driver) in addition to importing an audio file + loading up a different VST instrument helped! I assume outputs 1-4 are just notations without vst instrument in the back but I could do more research on that on my own time. Thank you both @Buer and @Puma0382 for your help!
