If you use “File → Save New Version” in Cubase while the score editor is opened (sync layout, fill view typically) and then export that to Dorico, the title of the score will be the previous file name, not the new one.
This might seem trivial, but constantly causes me issues when I see the wrong title later in Dorico and I have to re-check everything to make sure I have exported and opened the right Dorico file.
Can you attach a small (dummy) Cubase file that will exhibit the issue.? (may need to zip it up first). Can you add a little more info too - what exactly you’re doing/what you’ve tried so far.? What version of Dorico is used.?
Hi, thanks for the reply, but it’s the kind of bug that sharing a project file wouldn’t give any extra information.
Start a new Cubase Project, open the score editor, hit Save New Version and the project title does not update.
If you close and re-open the score editor the title has updated - but you don’t see the title in Fill View so you wouldn’t necessarily see that.
When you are working on complex projects and you later open the score in Dorico and it has the wrong title, it’s difficult at that point to reconcile which version of the project you had open when you exported to Dorico from Cubase. So you have no choice to repeat the whole process just in case.
I’m on Dorico 5 but the issue is clearly in Cubase.
Reads like they’re not going to be adding any sort of ‘refresh button’ or whatever any time soon Phil… see your other post for a direct response from SB dev…
I’m not sure how others are using the score editor but surprised I don’t see more posts about these sorts of issues. I have a few more in flight on here like the score going out of sync when nudging notes.
The score editor isn’t an occasional alternative view thing for me, it’s what I actually send out to performers along with the corresponding audio from Cubase so everything needs to line up.
