Score Lists

The problem with using the manual for help when you’re doing your first big project in Dorico is that you don’t know the correct terminology to search for and I’ve tried everything I can think of.

On a 16-stave score I want to show rehearsal marks, tempos and tempo changes not just on the top staff but on two other staves as well. Finale has Score Lists doing for this. Could someone please tell me the equivalent in Dorico and show me how? Thanks

Dorico calls these system-attached items. You can specify where they appear in Layout Options, either over specific instrument groups or specific players.

Thankyou! That’s most helpful, I’ve managed to do it at last.

When I think of the trouble and time I’ve wasted trying to find things like this in the manual simply because of different terminology, a Finale/Dorico dictionary for people like me seems a really sensible idea!

Sometimes it just takes a little patience. When I search in the manual for either “rehearsal mark position” or “tempo mark position”, the first search result talks about tempo marks as system-attached items, and gives a link to the the section I referred to above—but at the end of several paragraphs that describe other aspects of positioning. (And for rehearsal marks, the second search result takes you to the system items section directly.)
