The problem was solved by doing this:
I deleted the folders: {user settings and driver script} within the path
documents/Steinberg/Cubase, obviously cutting them and putting them on the desktop.
From what I understood, the aforementioned user settings folder contained settings for various Atrutia minilab, Akai, etc. controllers that I had a while back.
Once I’d done this, after racking my brains trying to find solutions, I did this one mostly on instinct.
I launched the Cubase program, which created new folders without any files inside when it started. By loading my script, it recreated new files within the folders containing my current Kontrol S88mk3 controller. As if by magic, it read all my previously created scripts.
