Scrolling through track colors and the new color panel

3 track/part-color related things are messed up in “Cubase 10” in combination with “Windows 10”.

  1. The new “color panel” does not stay open when using Windows10/Cubase10
  • seem to be different behaviour on Mac computers
  1. Naming of the colors are not displayed anymore in color panel
  • hover over a color instead ← impractical
  • having many similar colors on your color palette… then you need the names displayed urgently!
  1. Changing the track color by mouse- scrolling/clicking with Shift/Control/Alt pressed on track type symbols (e.g. the small “wave icon” far left on the track) does not work anymore.
  • changing in inspector (scroll) still works.

Yes. Confirmed. Wow. That’s pretty odd! Something that I never thought of until it has gone. I always used the color panel and the color tool (tool palette) quite naturally until now. Would be great if Steinberg could do something there with next update.

If you use the key command it does. Default is shift-ctrl/cmd+c

This was restored in the C10.0.10 update.

    • Still not working in Win

Sorry, My mistake. It will be in the next update. It is already in the testing version.

Can’t quite understand this change. I have had to resort to opening the setup colours panel and screenshooting it so I know which is which.

Please can we have the names back, or at least an option to show them.

I see a lot of this has been sorted in 10.0.15, except having the names of the colours. It would be great if we could get those back too!

If anyone is interested, I contacted Steinberg about this, and am pleased to say that the option to show Colours with the name is being added in a future version (probably April). So, thanks for listening Steinberg!
