Scrubbing via keys?

Hi,
is it possible in Cubase 14 Pro to scrub through and audio event (whilst playing the audio) by holding down a key?

I would like to hold down a key and have the audio play and scrub forward by 1 frame until I release the key., which then stops the audio from playing. The same if I press a different key to play and scrub backwards until released.

I read somewhere that I can press play twice which will present the option to turn on scrubbing, but according to that info, I need to scrub by clicking and holding the mouse button down whilst dragging forwards or backwards.

I want to completely avoid using the mouse and scrub using key shortcuts.
I am making my own midi controller and want to use a jog dial to scrub audio (the jog dial executes a key command when turned).

Any help is appreciated, before I commit to buying Cubase.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi,

you can assign key commands to play an adio event back- or forward up to 8 times slower or faster than the regular tempo. I don’t know if this is slow/fast enough for the things you have in mind.
When it comes to scrubbing I am not sure if this is possible without using the mouse, maybe someone else can chime in.

Ok, thanks for replying.
