Second voice input quirks

I have a song where I want to add some background voices. I have like 3 measures where I would like to fill in the background with 2 voices. Adding voice 1 ok, adding the 2nd voice using all of the described methods (SHift+V, then shift+N) yes adds the notes to the 2nd voice BUT also moves my notes in the following measures! I have no clue which setting controls this behavior.
Any ideas?

Do you have Insert Mode engaged?

Hopefully this helps you out!

@GeorgeMaster interestingly activating the chord symbols seemed to work, but it actually didn’t. Yes now the notes are not pushed, but you create chords not a note in the second voice.
If one uses Dorico just for creating note sheets this might be a workaround, though.

I have no clue how I activated it, so thanks for reminding me!

Hmmm, you may want to do Shift+V again to add a third voice. Do you have a snapshot to show what you are trying to do? It should show +2 stem up or +2 stem down or +3 stem up or +3 stem down.
