So I asked DMG Audio why Track Control could not be found as a plugin … as far as they know there is no common sense reason why from Cubase 13 to 14 this would happen.
After getting shafted by the new aggressive rampant record feature which wont turn off, i thought … maybe I could export that song that was failing to export so badly ( a few weeks ago) as the play black was gliding in pitch in two of the main synths and keys… all i could assume was it was a Cubase error.
I thought maybe now I’m in 14 and cleaned my pc up a bit / updated etc, maybe I could use this like a normal DAW, or software where you pay money and it works consistently… but I guess I was wrong. look at how many plugins are missing.
This is not consistent either with other projects.
Respectably - this is messed up. I am furious.
I know for example limitless is on my template and Cubase has not wigged out about this before.
Why make it so I have to re enable, when I can do this? Like why insult me?
Do you understand how badly this screws me over? I loose all my plug in settings. So many songs now I can’t finish.
Did Cubase think it would be funny to do this? Maybe they have Greg explaining it for four hours somewhere?
I don’t think this is the case either.
For example on some projects it cannot find Limitless, DMg Audio, yet others it can not. I don’t understand because i use the samE version all the time.
Noone is insulting you.
Although VST3 is the new standard you can still enable VST2s in Cubase 14 like @MrSoundman suggested and you can do so in future Cubase iterations by bridging them (plenty of threads on that topic here).
I guess I was saying why make the fuss when it’s ‘so simple to change’ like what good does that do or what approach of common sense does this embody? Like metaphorically imagine: ‘we are born with out legs but they are right there just attach them…’ it’s like they are making problems so that their influencers can address them… viciou$ cycle!
vst2 are being phased out…it was said C14 would be last version with VST2 support though not sure if that’s happened until 15 comes out
I guess they are trying to make sure it doesn’t catch people completely unaware in that version by making it an option you need to select in this version.
Just use the earlier version of Cubase to finish those projects. Or just activate VST2 plugins. Or best of all replace these out of date (unstable) VST2’s with the VST3 versions.
Steinberg have been given us warning about stopping VST2 for a couple of years now.
Your rant seemed a bit over the top considering…
