Hi all,
Is there a way to select all articulations? I don’t see a filter or menu option for it. Especially as people bring things over from other notation softwares, there ends up being a lot of cruft on the placement of articulations (my Finale imports via XML like to assign stem side placement) and it would be incredibly helpful to gather them all up and alter preferences.
Let me know if I’ve missed something!
Articulations aren’t separate items in Dorico; they’re more like properties of notes.
Many users find that XML imports go better if you turn off most of the options in Preferences > MusicXML > Import. One of these options is:
If you want to “fix” a score you’ve already imported, you can select all (in Write mode), filter for notes and chords, and then do Edit > Reset Position. Note that this will also reset the position of any notes which have been moved themselves.
Another possibility is to turn on this option, in Preferences > Note Input and Editing > Note Input.

Then you can select all (in Write mode), switch to Engrave mode, and open the bottom Properties panel. Scroll over to the Articulations section, and turn the toggle off for any or all of these properties.

These are both so helpful! The latter is what I was struggling with - when I filtered for all notes I did not see the articulations pop-up appear to make that global change. Thank you!
