Select ALL does not select upper split-window parts

I notice when using SELECT EVERYTING AFTER THE CURSOR it just selects the events in the active window area. This is not helpful when I use instrument tracks in my lower main window and marker, tempo changes etc. in the upper split-window area.
I guess this is by design? ANy tip how to select really EVERYTHING?

Hi,

Yes, this is by design.

Do the task in one of the list, switch focus to the second list and do it again.

But the function you call after, will again apply only to the events in the focused list.

I thought so. Can I refer to those two areas in the LOGICAL EDITOR so I can build a macro?

Hi,

I’m afraid you can’t.

What is your use case, please?

You can use the PROJECT Logical Editor to select all Parts after the cursor and in both splits.

Hi,

But then, you process only the top or bottom part, which is in focus.

What can I say? The commands in the PLE, as in the image I posted, work as requested on my machine. Parts, top and bottom get selected.

Hi,

I understand this. But I still don’t understand the use case. The user selects all objects in both lists. But then he cannot process them, only the list in focus will be processed. So what is the point to select them both then?

Since I never use the split function I did some simple tests - and you’re right, not possible to edit or delete the parts, &tc.

the workflow would be:
mark everything after cursor so I can move the whole stuff a couple of bars or where I want it.
Since I use all marker/tempo/time tracks in the upper window, they of course have to move along as well.

Hi,

Be aware, the Nudge commands wont work in this case (because of the focus logic, which I mentioned above). At the other hand, Edit > Range > Insert Time or Delete Time functions work for both track lists in this case.
