Select All Notes on Key WITHOUT Triggering Output?

Hello,

I’d like to select all of the notes on a key in the key editor. I usually do this by option clicking on a key on the keyboard display. This selects them all but it always outputs that MIDI note as well. Is there a way to get it to not do this (a preference or modifier key)?

Or maybe there’s a better way to do this if I don’t want a MIDI note output?

just press your mouse button on an empty area and mark what area you want to be selected? or CTRL+A if you want to select ALL?

Yes I know that I can draw a rectangle around any notes that I like but there are times when I need the precision of option clicking on the keyboard, especially in very large piano rolls.
