Select and Note Input both highlighted - what does this do?

Is there a way to set it so that one is the flip of the other and neither are selected at the same time? Not sure why you’d have to have both selected.

Created a shortcut to toggle select (I use esc-esc), but it’s a hassle when both are selected like (or maybe I’m still not well versed in Dorico for this not to be a problem):

With Note Input selected and Select not selected, the mouse can be used to enter pitches. If Select is on, then you can’t accidentally enter a note with the mouse.

Ah, that makes those accidental note inputs less likely. Thanks.
