This is really a problem, several of my daily macros are based on this command!
I hope this has something to do with the disabled functions bug in Combine Selection Tool mode, and it will likely be fixed soon, otherwise Cubase 14 is not going to be relevant to me.
Turn on Combine Selection Tool, select an audio event clicking with arrow (the lower half of audio event), event is selected, now use option “Select none” - the audio event remains selected.
When you do this with Combine Selection Tool off - all works ok.
That is a change of behaviour from C13 to C14. So this is not a bug but a design choice. Please use another topic if you want to protest against it - or better use one which already exists.
Thanks. It is actually a bit weirder than just what you describe.
I have a MIDI track and an Audio track.
Initially, with combined tool on, I can select a midi part and use “select none” to deselect it.
If I add an audio event to the audio track I can still select and select-none the midi parts. The audio event, however, does not respond to select-none.
If I then select audio event and midi part the functionality breaks down.
It also breaks down when I put the audio event into an audio part.
In fact, when using an audio part even if I switch the tool to only Select the select-none function won’t work anymore at all.
Bonus: This seems to also affect the Invert-selection in the same way.
I’ve just come across this too as I use ‘U’ as my key comand to unselect everything as it’s a useful shortcut.
Works perfectly as expected in c13 but in c14 it only wotks on midi events NOT audio. why would this be the correct way to implement a new feature if it is so?
Also if you use select all first the select none works as expected.
I found the same issue. Works great in C12 too. Not in C14. It’s one very useful command that gets used so many times in a day. I haven’t found a workaround.
