Not the first time it’s happened, but it hasn’t been a problem for months until now. Every time I set my staves for Show System-Attached Items Above: Specific players and click apply, it sets everything correctly, but then gives me this:
Everything is blanked, and the next time I set another option somewhere in Layout Options, it applies this also. For some reason, my settings refuse to stick.
Okay, I thought this went away, but now it’s happening again in a completely new piece. Every time I set these buggers, the check marks disappear when I hit Apply. Strangely, it actually applies my selections, but the next time I do anything using Layout Options and hit Apply, all the markings in the score disappear.
Hi @clancyweeks, I can confirm the issue in your project as you describe it.
I experimented a little, and probably it has something to do with instruments families and/or instrument score order (especially the Unpitched Percussions) and/or some conflict in layout options. I did reset your instrument families, and made other reset/adjustments (I don’t remember them all, and I don’t know exactly which was the culprit).
Try with this version of the file if the issue is still present. Tomorrow I can analyse it deeply, also using the Library Manager, and tell more (or possibly ly someone else will do while I sleep )
I can reproduce some of the issue, but not all. I used a rehearal mark to test it.
This I can reproduce. But, when I close and reopen Layout options, the checkmark does show up. If I then manually deselect the box, hit apply, and then select it again etc, the issue repeats itself.
This I can’t reproduce. If I check the box for Rehearsal Marks I can see the marking appear in the score and the checkbox become empty. But if I then (without closing Layout options) make another change somewhere and hit apply again, the Rehearsal mark is still there.
All and all a very strange situation. I tried using the Library Manager to transfer all of your settings to a blank project, but the issue did not occur there. Could this be a corrupted template somehow? E.g. I also noticed that the instrument families are in a different order than in my own projects.
(Also I’ve never seen the ‘page’ stretch out so far to the right in a project that only contains 3 bars, and adapting to the screen width when you zoom out which was Fill view )
Thanks for checking into this, but it’s not merely cosmetic. System attached objects dissappear, regardless of view, whenever I click Apply without checking first if all the options I chose are still selected. And I have to check every time I change anything in Layout Options.
I’ve given up and am currently using Families, as that works fine (mostly) for the current score, but the other way offers too much to simply leave it behind.
