Selecting all music in one instrument

e.g. Trumpet 2 in an orchestral score. What’s the easiest way to select everything in this instrument. Ideally something like triple-clicking in the first bar of the score.

Note: I know about the CTRL+SHIFT+A command. But it doesn’t work, if the first bars in the score are just bar rests, and starting from there. I seem to need to find the first note in that part. And if that’s in bar 383 it get’s complicated.)

Thanks!

So, CTRL + SHIFT + A works for me if I click on the first rest on any staff, any instrument. I’m on a Mac, though, so it might be different on Windows.

Take a look at Edit > Select to End of Flow. You can also invoke this from the Jump Bar, or assign a key command to it.

You can also select something in bar 1 and use the Select to End of Flow key command (also under the Edit menu).

Thanks asherber. This works.

CTRL + SHIFT + A does not work here (Windows).

I agree – it does not work for me on Windows if I start with a rest.
