In the Sync Layout of the score editor, you can select the parts to be shown. It only shows the midi parts that were selected in the project window. If I want to consolidate this and create a custom layout for it, suddenly it shows the complete project starting from bar 1.
How can I show only my desired selection of midi parts in a custom layout of the score editor, just like in the sync layout?
Create a custom layout in the Cubase 15 Score Editor to display a specific selection of MIDI tracks and parts. To do this, use the Visibility tab, create a new layout, and activate the “Lock Layout” option so that the part selection does not change automatically.
Set up custom layout
Open the Score Editor (e.g., via the Notation menu or using Ctrl/Cmd + R).
Activate the “Show/hide editor visibility” button on the toolbar.
Switch to the Visibility tab.
Create a new layout using the layout management.
Select the desired MIDI tracks and parts to appear in this layout.
Lock and protect layout
Enable the “Lock Layout” option for your new custom layout.
This prevents changes to track visibility in the Project window from unintentionally altering the finished score layout.
Enable “Keep editor content” if necessary so that the view remains stable and does not dynamically follow every new project selection.
Hi Wolfgang, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I can’t make it work on my end. Where you write “Select the desired MIDI tracks and parts to appear in this layout”, I know how to select the desired MIDI tracks in the Visibility tab. But I’m unable to select the parts on each track that I want to appear in the custom layout. “Keep editor content” is automatically enabled when I create a new custom layout, and whenever I click on that to disable it, the score editor returns to the Sync Layout. In the Sync Layout I can select individual parts so that it shows boxes next to the track names instead of checkmarks. But in the custom layout it always shows the entire track, with the checkmark next to the track names, and “Keep editor content” enabled.
