Nuendo fails to show the name of a send properly, it often shows a generic name like “Level” or blank space instead of the name of the FX channel. This is a PITA say when you have 5 sends all called level and there does not appear to be any way of renaming. Prove me wrong. I’ve had this issue for years but now I am getting fed up having to refer to notes in the inspector. Anyone got any ideas how to get round this?
Lucky you! How can I get to this state?
Same for me. This is the default behaviour.
Have a look if it is your preference files that mess with your Nuendo. Simply use a new profile.
For testing purposes you can try to go to Edit → Profile Manager… and create a NEW profile there. Then please activate it and restart Nuendo. It should run Nuendo with factory settings.
If the problem still persists you can switch back to your previous profile at any time.
Thanks. The odd thing is that it doesn’t do this all the time. I have been trying for a while now to figure out if there is anything different that I do when it works compared to when it doesn’t work.
Here’s an example of this crap naming problem I have.
I am sending the dialogue reverb to two different incidences of a reverb for internal and external parts of the edit. As you can see they both are called level which is of NO use at all. I cannot keep track of dozens of channels where this is happening. After trying your suggestion it still doesn’t work. Been happening for years in 13 and 14 but I have just put up with it. Guess I am going to have to wait a month or so to hear back from Steinberg support with a solution that won’t work, not that I am cynical or anything!
