I have been slowly building up a custom template in Metagrid Pro and discovered yesterday that it’s possible to change grids (a set of buttons) upon receiving MIDI CC data. This is used so that one can automatically have relevant buttons when viewing particular windows e.g. viewing the mixer window in your program can automatically display mixer-related buttons (rather than, say, MIDI-editing buttons) on your iPad.
I think it’s currently possible in some DAW programs - but definitely in other software. It would be great if this was possible to do in Dorico, i.e. send MIDI data when changing modes. It appears that another way Metagrid can automatically change grids is to track the window title. Since, Dorico doesn’t display what the current mode is in the window title, this feature isn’t useful to me either.
