Sending "note 1" from MIDI track to vst channel 1, note 2 in MIDI track to vst channel 2 etc

Hi!
I´m absolutely new to CuBase (just bought it) and I now have written a simple melody consisting of 3 notes into a MIDI track. The vst I´m using is SampleTank3 and now I´d like my first “midi note” to be played on vst channel 1, the next midi note on vst channel 2 etc. so that I get a new sound on each note. Please help me out!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

You have 2 options:

  • Add 3 MIDI Tracks. Route all of them to SampleTank. Set MIDI Channels 1, 2, 3… and place the notes to the tracks as you wish.
  • Set the MIDI Channel of your Instrument Track to Any. Select every single MIDI Note in the Key Editor and set its wanted MIDI Channel. If the track’s MIDI Channel is set to Any, the MIDI Message’s Channel is taking in account.
