I have been a Sequel user since I purchased Sequel 2 some years ago. It’s been my go-to DAW forever UNTILL I had to reformat my machine. Now I can no longer register my original copy or the so-called free version Steinberg offers as a download. It would seem any version is no longer able to be registered and will only run in demo mode since Steinberg changed their registration system. Good one Steinberg, THANKS. Someone please tell me this issue has been rectified and there is a new usable download available.
Hi @Steinynoob, I am sorry to hear about the issues with Sequel and its license.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to assist here, as Sequel was officially discontinued over a year ago.
Sequel 2 was released in 2008, and even the free Sequel 3 release for Windows was discontinued before we shut down the eLicenser servers almost one year ago. There is no new license type available for Steinberg Licensing and Sequel is incompatible with current operating systems.

Thanks Ed Doll.. that’s a shame, the only reason it failed is because of the change of licencing, it worked perfectly for years right up to Windows 11. Oh for an unconvaluted DAW.
