This is not an exact repeat or the “Quite around here” Thread because this time I’m going to say it for what its worth. Everyone is sooo scared to speak there mind for fear of being banned. I look at it differently if I speak up and get banned then what am I losing. I hardly get any support or advice here anymore. So I’d rather be booted off for trying than sit around frustrated as hell with my mouth shut.

I just want change I want the old players out and some new blood in. Hopefully Steinberg will finally see that if the users are saying these types of thing they will have to act or I can see the start of a mass walk out.
Fredo you should be given some other role in Nuendo because you are tainted with resentment and bias feelings toward yourself over the years. Now that’s not to take away the massive positive involvement you have had and will always be respected for but unfortunately people focus on the negative and not the positive. And Timo I think the same applies to you

I was actually joking… though the way I am feeling this moment, which will totally be different when I wake, makes me want to toss nuendo and take my PT license to HD, which I have considered in the past due to forum atmosphere.

out the Cubase forum I get even less support than before. Customer support never answered one of my support tickets

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me being cynical, but does any of this really matter personally or professionally? When you get right down to it, I think not. The software is still great, whether you are using Cubase or Nuendo, does 99% of what it is supposed to do, and effortlessly. It has also been getting easier to use over time, far more intuitive, which should lead to less need for support, which I agree is abysmal anyway. Nothing has changed there, however, and won’t, so debating it to death is a waste, as is debating the debate, or lack of it, or how it’s edited. After a while it just becomes sad to hang on to ridiculous arguments in the face of intransigence on all sides. I swing by Cubendo.com once in a while and the air is stale with the stench of what used to permeate the air here, a mix of persecution complex, ego, and vitriol, so fairly obvious to anyone with eyes and sense where the lion’s share of the blame rests for the changes wrought here. I’m sure that could be argued to death, too, but not by me.
Bottom line, just got tired of little Keyboard-Caesars with too much time on their hands and ugly manners discussing topics they have no clue about, and refusing ever to admit they might be remotely wrong about anything. On another note, last night while editing away in the studio, I realized I had been working in Cubase 6.02 64 the last week without realizing it. Still running Nuendo 5.1.1 64 on another SysLinked machine, but just fell into editing in Cubase for some reason and didn’t miss anything in Nuendo, obviously. Don’t know what that says, just an observation.

Cubendo for the most part is as dead if not deader than this place , sign of the times…, most of the core group have not posted at the Nuendo forums for years, so how in GOD’s name can you place the blame for the death of participation and lack of community spirit here on them ?
If you didn’t want to argue the point why bring it up, and of course you would never step up and post that over there so that those you accuse could have a right of reply , you would rather take your anaemic pot shots hiding behind a rock… !!
Now, now, don’t go getting your knickers all in a snit, it really isn’t worth all that. As far as daring to tread on their turf and confront them directly, they’re not the Crips or the Bloods and don’t deserve the aura of fear or intimidation you might believe they hold, they’re just obnoxious and not worth the time. The traffic over there has always been thin, but the mantra still exists, they still slam Fredo, as if there has ever been any honour in that. I agree - its not pretty to see and frankly sad that the community has so much resentment and personal distaste for each other
But! This is why we need change and fast.
Software wise Nuendo is 95% AWESOME but for some reason a large part of the community is just poisoned. I’m warning us all Steinberg included if something drastic doesn’t change and the numbers start picking up Yamaha WILL tell Steinberg to shut it down and just focus on Cubase.
Surely I’m not the only one who wants to see some new people running the ship. Again sorry Fredo and Timo hate having to talk about this in front of you but have no other choice.
It looks like some people are not able (or simply refuse) to have a normal conversation, without the usual p**sing contests, the verbal abuse, the namecalling and beating everyone who doesn’t share their opinion.
I am starting to get enough of all that.
I will not put any energy in sending out warnings, deleting posts and cleaning up this mess.
Next step is banning and locking this thread.

Nahh, no running required, we discovered long ago the grass was actually greener in those hills, we only venture back here occasionally to see whether Fredo’s lawn is still brown.

At any rate, the second point above is exactly what I’m getting at too. I feel absolutely zero enthusiasm from SB about the app. I can’t see it in the marketing, and I can’t see it in the interaction with their users. I don’t think it’s there. Even though it should be.
Well for an unofficial rep Fredo has A LOT of effect on the Community and ultimately the brand. If I was SB I’d be very concerned that the Brand is not doing the best it could do and would be making drastic changes to rectify that. But hey I’m not SB and well we all no how quickly they move on important matters.
Anyway that’s me people I’m off I’ll stop by from time to time and may even say the old thing but no more championing for Nuendo, ranting and raving for change because its just not going to happen. I’ve place my order for the greener pastures and looking forward to tucking in. In the end this thread has really helped me make my decision and to be honest prob something I been wanting to for at least a year but couldn’t afford it. But now they have come out with very affordable solutions that the jump needs to be made. So take care all - PMedia
