Set a project to open on startup

Hi all, I have recently taken on an IT Support role at a school using Cubase 11 in their music classrooms. I re-imaged all PC’s over the summer holidays to upgrade with a clean install to Windows 11, and is something I do every summer break as it is good practice to start each academic year fresh.

The music teacher is saying that Cubase used to open a default project that he created with drivers, an audio track etc set up to reduce disruption in his lessons, but I can’t find where to add this functionality back after the re-image

I have put this file on a shared drive for pupils to access as a quick fix, but this isn’t an ideal solution in the long term

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Not sure if there is such an option..
I would delete Cubase’s shortcut icons from start menu, desktop, and taskbar, create a shortcut of the project file that you want to start up with, rename the shortcut to “Cubase”, and finally add it to Start menu, desktop, and taskbar.

That makes a lot of sense, actually, thanks! must have been what my predecessor had done

I mentioned this as a feature request a few days ago, a little more flexibility in startup behaviour would be nice

Currently there is only the option to “open last project on startup”

Elsewhere, I’m curious to know how the school you work at came to work with Cubase instead of Logic or ProTools? A school I work with is all Logic :-/
