I wonder why the flexphraser is not a midi insert?
What similar options are there already…to achieve the same ‘flexibility’?

The Flux instrument, part of HSSE/3, has a very powerful sequencer that allows flexphrase presets to be saved. I’ve not worked with this feature a lot, but it might help you.
Both Flux and Restrologue/2 allow sequencer phrases to be recorded and used in project parts.
That said, I think a Flexphraser MIDI Insert or Plug-in would be great.
I agree that the FlexPhraser would be great plug-in! I looked into the idea of sending MIDI into HALion and then MIDI back out of HALion but I don’t see any MIDI output options for HALion.
