Set layer zone

Hello, I want to set a Layer Zone for VST Instrument to exactly one note. Currently you cannot set this, a minimum of two grades are selected. Is this technically feasible? Thanks

Hi @Juri_Koecher,

hm, it’s possible. Can you post us a screenshot? Maybe there’s an invariant which we don’t see?

Thank you,
Michael.

Hello Michael, with pleasure. As you can see here, I limited the layer to a note C2, but C#2 also plays a role.

Have I been forgotten or is this concern simply ignored?

… sorry, looking to it and I’ll keep you in the loop,
Michael.

Sorry.
This is a tricky one. If we limit to one note, we’d have to change how the upper limit is to be treated. As of now, it includes the upper value (C#2 in your case).
While it takes just a few minutes to “fix” that, it would break all exsisting projects. We’ll have to add a preference for that it seems…? Will try to fix it using versioning.

Of course, nobody wants anything to get damaged. My keyboard is split into many different parts when it’s live. But since I only have 61 keys, every key is valuable. But if it’s that big of a problem, I’ll just have to live with it. Or maybe you’ll find a solution. Thanks again for the great work.

We have changed it for the next version(s).

“Old” projects will work as before. The only difference is that for instance in your case, the upper note is changed to “D2”, and C2 and C#2 will continue to sound. But with the next version, you can set the upper limit to C#2 again, and only C2 will sound.
