Set list

I am hoping with the next release you will consider having set list for live performance. This is a great app, but not really useful for life gigging. We need a simple interphase with set list that can pull in the individual wave files.

YES PLEASE!

In my case, I need a simplified interface to load and start/stop Cubasis projects (each of our songs is its own Cubasis project).

Details of why/how here:

What I’ve been doing is export the master track as a wave file from my desktop DAW, then import the track into Cubasis. After I have all my songs imported I can pull ten songs into a project in the set order. Then solo the songs one at a time as I got through the set. It’s crude but it works. I just need a simple interphase were you can pull in wave files that you have in library and put them in the order you want to play them. (Set Lists)

That won’t work for me because each of our live projects is up to eight different audio tracks that get mixed live, as well as MIDI tracks to trigger external gear.

Also, the core of my feature-request is to have a simplified UI with a few big buttons so that any accidental swipes won’t cause mayhem live.

When you’re in the middle of a performance, and moving around on stage, you don’t want any accidental touching of the iPad surface to, say, mute a track, or do something else unintended.

And the buttons that need to be there for the live/set list UI need to be BIG because you don’t want to go into “fiddle with a tiny UI” mode when hundreds of people in the audience are scrutinizing your every move on stage.

Got it, hopefully Steinberg will come up with some that can be customized that will work better for live gigs, and accommodate different setup situations.

Yes! I think Cubasis is really underrated as a live tool, and I’m hoping Steinberg realizes that they are sitting on some real potential here.

There’s a huge hole in the market for an iPad app that can be the centerpiece of a full live setup (audio/MIDI/video/DMX), and Cubasis is close and has replaced dedicated hardware for me because Cubasis was more reliable than said (expensive!) hardware.

Hi all,

What about creating a folder, which includes the projects you plan to use/play in the live set? Should be quick and easy to access (and to load the projects), if named accordingly?

Best,
Lars

I tried the folder idea, it kinda works, however there’s know way to easily rearrange the song set order, and you have to change the name of the project and put a 1,2,3 etc to get them in the order you play them.
What would be great is under the Media tab is to add “Set List” and allow the project to be rendered to a master track, or import your master track, and then import them into set list. Then have the function to rearrange the order of the set list, add new wave files, stop and the end of the wave file or continue to the next wave file. I love Cubasis but right now it is not really user friendly for live gigs. I use an app called “AnyTune Pro+” works great for live gigs. Please check out this app and see if there is anyway to bring in some of this functionality into Cubasis.

That’s exactly what I do, and I name the projects such that they show up in the order of the set (just prepend a number to the project name).

But that doesn’t address the issue that after the project is loaded, I’m still in an UI that’s designed for editing projects, instead of for playing them live. And with an iPad surface touch-sensitive everywhere, it is just too easy to accidentally hit a UI element that does something that’s catastrophic in a live setting.

Hence the core of my request being a “live mode” UI overlay that has just a few options (like start/stop/rewind-to-zero/load next project).

If using an Apple iGadget, use Music and make a playlist?

That won’t work because I also have several MIDI tracks in these Cubasis projects, as well as up to eight audio tracks that get mixed and processed in Cubasis live.
