I have set “Set Local Properties: Globally”, but when I change the enharmonic of a note in the piano part, it does not change in the score. Look in the bass clef for the note C-natural 2 in the piano part (yellow background), which remains B# in the full score. See attached.
Properties are only the shown parameters in the lower zone.
The enharmonic spelling of a note is not a property.
From the documentation:
By default, respelling notes in score layouts also affects their spelling in all other layouts, but respelling notes in part layouts only affects their spelling in the current part layout.
Okay. Thank you for the information. But it would be useful for orchestral composers to be able to enter full score notes in the part or the score, and for the notes and their spellings to be identical in both, no matter the point of entry or change of an enharmonic spelling. It is hard on the eyes to always be forced to enter notes in full score. Please consider this a feature request.
It takes a second to propagate the spellings.

The given behavior is very useful in particular for transposing instruments in concert pitch scores to avoid double flats and sharps.
A compromise could be a checkbox Link enharmonic spelling per (part) layout in Layout Options.

I realize that, but the problem is, if I have already gone back and forth entering information in full score and parts, assuming that my my interpretation of the term “Globally” actually meant “globally”, then I have different information in both score and parts, and propagating parts info to score might be problematic. So one almost has to write out a set of rules imposed by Dorico on your working method to make sure you know every detail of the default behaviours. And also crdoss-reference where changes can be made between all of the different setup areas. I have trouble remembering every single detail of Dorico’s operation.
I searched for a Layout Option with “Link enharmonic spelling” but could not find it. Would you be able to direct me to the correct subcategory. Thanks.

I think we’re just talking about note spellings here, right? Because if you have “Set Local Properties: Globally”, then actual properties you set are set globally.
It sounds to me like your intent is to have the same note spellings in score and part. In that case, selecting all of the notes in the part and doing Write > Respell > Propagate Note Spellings shouldn’t have any ill effects: If you had changed a spelling in the score, then the score and part already agree, and if you had changed a spelling in the part, this will make the score look like the part.
