I have been trying to set up Cubebase 15 Elements to work with a Mackie Onyx Producer 2.2. It is my understanding that if it’s done correctly you can use the Mackie Onyx to record into Cubebase and receive playback from Cubebase to the Mackie Onyx. I’ve installed the latest drivers and I can record to Cubebase 15 but I cannot get the Monitoring to work either withe the computers headphone jack or Mackie’s Onyx interface. I could use some detailed help in getting this set up.
Is the interface mix knob set to DAW?
Do you get audio through the interface outside of cubase?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Is the given (Mackie) ASIO driver selected in the Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System, please? How are the Studio > Audio Connections > Inputs and Outputs setup? Could you attach screenshots?
Cubase Menu > Studio > Studio Setup > make sure the outputs are active.
`Thank your for changing the permissions. As soon as i have enough time. I’ll send screenshots about my issue.
I don’t think a addressed that all the input and output buses are said to be active.
For clarity - The monitor button on the track is to monitor input signal. It will mute playback….so on for recording (unless you direct monitor on the interface) off for playback.
You didn’t answer whether you have audio through the Mackie outside of Cubase? (You’ll need to select it as windows audio)

Hi,
I have changed your permissions. You should be able to send screenshots now.
I now at have audio outside of Cubase. Someone suggested checking the Device Manager for the audio devices and drivers. I did that and chose the Onyx as my output device for Windows. I have the output now coming to the Onyx from the computer but not Cubase. I tried to see if I could play the audio file in Cubase but nothing. So I’m guessing it’s some type of setting that needs to be addressed. At least there has been some progress. Thank you.
Let’s see if I can put some screen shots to see what else needs to be corrected.
Studio>Studio Setup.
Studio>Audio Connections Outputs then Inputs
Let me know if you see something that needs changing or other suggestions.
Hi,
Try to disable the Externally Clocked option in the Studio Setup > Mackie ASIO Driver.
No that didn’t work, unless I have to restart Cubase.
Hi,
OK, next step… Could you show us the track, when you are playing it back (playing an audio file coming from MediaBay)?
Is the Output set to Stereo Out? Is the Monitor button disabled?
Yes the Monitor Button is disabled.
Hi,
Can we see the Project window, now, please?
Your track is not routed to a bus….it likely got created when there was no bus available.
Where it says No bus in the mixer routing select the stereo out.
Note that your stereo outs have left and Right swapped at the moment. Normally you would use 1 for L and 2 for R
Well, that made a difference. I can now hear the Playback. Thanks. Is there a way to change the stereo outs back to where they should be? I noticed that before but is that a setup issue or can it be done now?
You just click in audio connections on the device port and select the correct ones.
