Where’s the setting for left padding outside enclosure for letter E here?
(As in engraving options)
If I recall correctly, you adjust the padding for rehearsal marks in the Edit Paragraph Styles dialog. Is there anything in there for you?
EDIT: sorry I misinterpreted your question (you were asking for “outside” enclosure)
(and I assume you have tried increasing this:)
(but the probably overfull system suggested by @Janus is probably what is happening here)
Anyway, I leave my answer here, in case could be helpful for someone else
Hi @GeirSol, there are dedicated padding settings in Engraving Options/Rehearsal Marks/Enclosure. You may want to decrease the minimum with and height first, as the default paddings are already small. :
Factory values:
If even setting the min. and max. values to 0 is not enough, you can then go to the padding values and try negative values.
Here some extreme settings, as an example:
My guess is that system is overfull, which is why the RM enclosure is tight against the previous notes.
Another approach would be to select the rehearsal mark and, in Engrave mode, either drag it to the right or use opt/alt+right arrow to nudge it in steps.
Same here.
I didn’t see that option, but it’s not solving this case.
Yes, that’s not a problem. But my goal here was to find the right setting in Engraving Options, or report a layout bug.
Maybe Engraving Options > Rehearsal Marks > Horizontal Position > Alignment of rehearsal mark relative to barline.
Sorry, wrong person answered.
See above picture, it’s not.
Dorico doesn’t typically pad items horizontally, so if Dorico doesn’t think the rehearsal mark is actually colliding with the notes/slurs to its left, it won’t move it. We do in limited cases provide some additional horizontal padding (e.g. for stems) so it’s possible, but as of right now, Dorico doesn’t do this for rehearsal marks.
Ok, so manual adjustment is the only solution at the moment.
Thanks!
