Setting up percussion for synthesizer playback

I have no idea how to setup all the percussion instruments in the score for synthesizer playback. The original score has three staves for percussion instruments, both pitched and unpitched, and indicates changes by labels over the notation. There is no fixed staff for any one instruments other than the player distribution list (Ex.1 ). There are four players covering the three percussion groups. Ex.2 shows a typical scoring. The page has about 33 staves, so there isn’t room to have individual staffs for every instrument. Can someone suggest a video which would make it clear how I might score these instruments properly? Or reorganize the distribution to make one staff just for the pitched instruments with the other two for unpitched? What about the idea of “kits”? I have no idea how to go about doing this, so I would appreciate the input from someone who does!

You probably want to add an empty percussion kit to each percussion player in Setup mode, and then add the unpitched percussion instruments to each empty kit (e.g. for player 1, add large gong, small triangle, and crotales), then add the remaining pitched instruments to each player (e.g. for player one, add timpani and glockenspiel). In galley view, you can write on each instrument as normal, and when you switch to page view, Dorico will automatically handle changing between pitched and unpitched instruments, and label the instrument transitions for you.

This video is pretty old, but the basics are still the same:

Thanks for your help. I’ll watch the video, etc., and get back to you if I have any further questions.
