does anyone no if I should set my sample rate to 96 and bit to 24? I have presonus 24 bit / 96k firewire interface. It has been set at 44.1k and 32 bit float. does the 96k 24bit use more cpu?

It depends on the master, on the result. If the result medium is CD (44.1 kHz), stay on 44.1. If the result medium is DVD or TV, switch to 48 kHz or 96 kHz.
It’s better to use 44.1 if the result should be 44.1 than to resample from 96 to 44.1 at the end.
