Setting up YouRock Guitar (YRG)

I just installed Cubase Artist 6 on my PC and tried using my YouRock Guitar as a midi controller to play some of the included VST instruments. However I can’t seem to figure out how to get it working. I have plugged the YRG in and the Win7 recognized it and auto installed a driver for it. However I can’t seem to figure out how to get Cubase to see it and allow me to play one of the instruments with it. I’m sure I’m just missing a simple step somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Powered on before opening Cubase? Show in Device Setup / MIDI Config.?

I believe I tried powering it on before starting cubase and it did not show up in the Midi devices but I will try again when I get home.

Well restarting everything and making sure the YRG was powered before Cubase got it working. Now though there is quite a bit of lag between hitting a note on the YRG and the VST playing it. Is this normal? I assumed it would work the same as any midi keyboard.

Well it should pretty much work the same as a midi keyboard…have you got a keyboard connected that doesn’t have the lag??

The latency should depend on your buffer settings and also on any latency inducing plugins in the signal chain.
Try lowering your buffers to 256 for live playing and if using effects on the channel or on the master try Cubase’ “Constrain Delay Compensation” button.
