Shaping niente without the symbol?

I’m scoring with NP and want to give the client a rough demo. A big thing for me is a delicate release of the strings, which I seem to only get (without tweaking CC) by using niente.

But of course I don’t want niente at the end of so many hairpins. Sometimes I want it written, usually not.

I was thinking I’d use either the circle or the n in the project visually, delete the other one in Music Symbols, and switch to that one in properties when I wanted it not shown. Is there a better way to accomplish this?

Again, I’m not interested in adjusting CC curves. I’d rather stay in the notation. Thanks.

Would it not be simpler just to use >pppp and hide the pppp?

Even pppp doesn’t give the same graceful fade that niente does. It’s quite lovely and really helps alleviate some of the plainness of NP strings.

My above method seems to be working OK, I was just curious if other people had experienced this.
