Shared layers at song level

HI!! I wonder if the idea of providing layers inserted at the “song” level can be taken into consideration, because for many songs I have to share the same layers in many parts and it would really be a huge time saver to be able to share such layers (or rather the their virual instrument/routes to external midi devices) at song level. Thank you for your attention and thank you for your work!

Not quite sure what your intention is?
You can select any Layer Instrument from the “Shared” menu. In addition, you can copy any duplicate a Layer and paste it (even “Duplicate Shared”).

Also for Parts, there is the “Append Duplicate” function which comes in handy when you want to create a Part for the 2nd verse which should be basically the same as “Verse 1”, and can modify the duplicate if desired.

But maybe you need something else?

HI! That’s basically what you wrote. my proposal/request serves to have more practical and visual clarity (I use many layers for each part). for example in the song I have 5-6 layers that must play on all 8 parts of the song, currently I have to share and have all these layers present in all eight parts. if they could be shared at Song level it would be much clearer visually and would save a lot of time. thanks for your consideration

…a sort of “global” song level! in a concert playlist it is much more frequent to have sounds shared within the parts of a song rather than at the level of the entire project

I get your point. In fact, we were considering an item in all Layers and Stack to select Part, Song, or Global. But that causes some problems and can be quite confusing for the user as well (copy/paste, undo, shared…)
So for now sorry, you will have to stick with it for a while. But consider the Part duplicate, that should help in your case, no? And if you use Shared Instruments, you also don’t have to worry about CPU or memory resouces; a Layer (or Stack, or Part or even Song) itself uses close to none.

in fact I set up my peogetti just as you described! but I am very happy that it will be taken into consideration in the future! Thank you!
