Sharing expression maps

How can I ensure that all custom playback techniques are transferred when sharing an expression map? For example, I have custom techniques like pizz. in peg box, circular bowing, and voice breath, and I want to make sure these techniques appear in the list.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum @Hans_Josef_Winkler.

You might be able to use the Library Manager to transfer these, though I can’t say for sure:

Hi @Hans_Josef_Winkler, beside the suggestion by @DanielMuzMurray, if you want your custom Playing Techniques and Playback Techniques (be aware that those are different things) appear on all all your projects right panel (or better said the appearance in the Panel would be only for the Playing techniques, while the Playback Techniques will appear in the corresponding dialogue), you can check the star icon (Save as default) for each desired technique, in the dialogues Library>Playing techniques and Library>Playback techniques.

@Christian_R
I think you meant “star icon” rather than start in that final sentence, but a typo slipped in.

Opps, thank you @Derrek, I corrected it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

In addition to what’s been mentioned above, If you want to share the expression map with someone else, then you’ll need at least an endpoint configuration. Custom techniques (playing|back) do not get exported with an expression map alone. If you do have custom techniques, that are imported into a project that doesn’t have them, they’ll appear as pt.user.xxx, pt.user.yyy etc.

The safest way to include everything is with a playback template built from your endpoint. This will have everything needed for playback, including custom techniques.
