I just went through all the trouble to make iLock and Eventide accounts because I thought I might want to get Black Hole (or the bundle), during the Black Friday sale. Been thinking about getting it since I first heard it years ago.
I compared Steinberg’s Shimmer to Black Hole, and while they’re a bit different, I like Shimmer just as much, if not more, than Black Hole.
Shimmer is a very pleasant surprise in C14.

Several times I set the feedback too much and the size too large, and got so much buildup that I thought my ears would burst.
I haven’t been able to turn it down quick enough to avoid it - dangerous.
When it hits a certain loudness, it completely locks up, and while it doesn’t crash Cubase itself, it needs to be removed and added back in before you can use it again.
Anyone else experienced this?
