Short names of instruments in a new layout and legato bow

Hi community! Two questions:

1. Does anybody know how to have appear short names at the firts page of a new layout? At the same time the first layout should have full names on the first page.
2. Is there a more elegant way to make the legato towards left as shown on the image?

Hi @Minas_Borboudakis, is not clear to me what you mean with “new layout”.
Maybe you mean a new flow?
Anyway you can create a Break (System or Frame) where you need a different visualisation of staff labels (Full, Abbreviated or None), and choose how the staff labels should be displayed for that system:

To make the tie to the previous flow (or another layout as you seems to need), you can just write a grace note before the first note, suppress its playback, change it’s scale to normal, hide notehead and stem (and ledger lines if necessary), then tie it to the main note. For the last note of the previous flow or layout you can create a l.v. tie from the properties panel and prolong it with the properties panel, or using tab to select the rightmost control point, and use the move shortcuts Shift+Option(Alt)+arrow keys:
