How to reset shortcut to default for individual processes?
Is there a way to export only Shortcuts to load in future versions or new installation of WL?
Because there are many more WaveLab functions than single-key shortcuts combinations. Hence, two keystroke shortcuts come to the rescue.
This is the preference file where shortcuts are saved:
KeyShortcuts.dat
This worked for pitch, but reset button is also working when nothing is selected. I was concerned if other shortcuts would also be reset as the menu is not specific because it is showing same warning for one or for all.
The reset is for all shortcuts, not single one.
There are 2 Pitch Shift for File and Montage same/separate shortcut can be assigned for both.
FWIW, I use either a Stream Deck or software like Keyboard Maestro for things like this.
Since WaveLab isn’t really scriptable and some shortcuts or common tasks require pressing more than one key… I use a Stream Deck or Keyboard Maestro to “double” or “triple” up on key commands so they can now be done with one click.
Not a perfect native solution but more that suitable. If you take the little bit of time to set it all up, it saves a lot of time and clicking in the future.
Reset works for selected short cuts… I made gain change Ctrl+G to G and Normalizer Ctrl+E. When I click on gain and reset, the Normalizer is still working on Ctrl+E.
But when you close the search tab and click on Reset All, WL reset everything.
In Reaper there is an option to export shortcuts.
When you assign any process shortcut to P, the other shortcuts that start with P will not work.
Also, like how you made changes to the Normalize tabs being opened and closed with same short cut for Audio Editor, is it possible to do the same with Processes for Montage like Pitch Shift etc.?
I added stream deck to my shopping list. I found this Elgato stream deck Wavelab plugin for sale.
Please create reset button for individual shortcuts in the same window where users assign shortcut.
