Shortcut to change duration from start of the note, rather than end

While arranging, I often want to nudge things around a little bit, and often use Shift+Alt+L/R Arrow and Alt+L/R Arrow. I often find that I want a version of Shift+Alt+L/R Arrow that, instead of keeping the beginning of the note fixed and changing the end, I want the opposite: that the end stays fixed and the beginning is “nudged”. Obviously I can do this by first using the Alt+Direction command, then extending the end of the note back to where it was by Shift+Alt+Direction, but that takes extra steps. Perhaps Ctrl+Alt+Direction could do such a thing? Perhaps I’m missing an already-existing method or shortcut for this?

There is indeed no default shortcut to move and shorten the note in a single step, so you’re not missing anything.
