Okay this is probably another one of my daft questions but here goes.
Im using an arranger keyboard, I have recorded midi file backing and am going to record it into Cubase use left and right stereo outs from the keyboard.
I have panned all relevant tracks to left and right within the midi file.
After recording this midi file into Channels 1 and 2 in Cubase, should I pan these channels again to any extent when recorded to audio.
Thanks
Best would be to use a stereo input bus and record onto a stereo audio track. Then everything sounds the way you panned it via MIDI before.
If you recorded a stereo output into two channels in Cubase then if you want to retain the stereo image you would have to pan the tracks left and right, yes.
Like Johnny wrote you can just use a stereo input bus and record to a stereo track.
Thanks Johnny that sounds like exactly what I’m after, many thanks.
Thanks for explaining that Mattias.
I going to record stereo input as Johnny advised.
Thanks again for your help.
