Show Automation - always for the Last Touched Parameter

Hi,

If possible, I would like to have an option to always automatically show the Last Touched Parameter, without the need to right click on a track and selecting “Show Automation”.

This would save me hundreds of clicks every week.

Of course, as an option because not everyone will like it.

This feature already exists. It was added with Cubase 15.

Yes, but I want to see a parameter automation without the need to first press W to write and then write automation, to see it.

What I’m asking for is:

  • I touch parameter (no previous automation made so far)
  • Automation lane appears in the track

Currently it works either like in the video or:

  • Touch a parameter

  • Right-click “show automation” on the track

I would like an ability to skip the last right-clicking step. Just see it right away after I touch a parameter.

Why? Because I don’t always want to write automation with a mouse/midi potentiometer. More often I do a lot of straight automations. So now I need to press W, record some automation. Then go and remove it (or edit it) and draw the right automation that I wanted to do in the first place.

The update in C15 improved the process a lot and it’s great. It’s just one tiny step from perfection.

In Cubase you have to tell a track like audio, midi, instrument, … to show automation in general. After chosing to show automation on a particular track you will get the desired behaviour.
Maybe it helps you to use a key command?

If not please excuse my posts.

Yes, a keyboard shortcut sounds like the best solution for now. Now I only need to find one that is easy - I have a lot of my personal shortcuts created over the years (this is why Ableton Live can’t compete with Cubase) :slightly_smiling_face:
