Hello Dorico fellows! Could’t find the proper topic for my question, so I allow myself to post it here, because it’s a Time Signature question.
I need to specify time signature like this: 9/4 (5+4/4) but I fail to do this.
I try to do it like this: Shift+M and then 9/4(5+4/4). But alas, nothing happens.
What do I miss here?
(I thought it was worth moving your post to its own topic, so I’ve done so.)
Dorico doesn’t have a built-in way of showing the beat grouping for the time signature immediately to the right of the time signature. A common way to show this would be to add text saying 5+4 above the time signature, though Dorico doesn’t have a way to do this automatically either: you could add the text as system text using Shift+Alt+X.
Thank you Daniel for your quick reply!
It would be great if this feature would be avaiable in Dorico in foreseeable future.
But of course one can type 5+4/4 into a popover as the main time signature. It’s only as a parenthetical time signature that it is not possible.
Yes, of course. But as an engraver I tend to re-create the score as close as possible to composer’s style.
Understood.
