Yes this is possible. You can use a Slash region with a Chord region.

I have notation in the measures I want chords. I found the answer.
Highlight the measures, the under writ menu, choose CHORD DEF.

Highlight then measures, the under write menu, choose CREATE CHORD REGION (down towards the bottom).
